Career Team is seeking to hire a Proposal Writer who will be responsible for responding to leads, requests for proposals (RFPs), and potential new engagements that emerge from contacts with past clients and others, bringing appropriate staff into the process and staying involved as needed until a contract is signed.

This is a remote position that will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our organization's mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of grant writing principles, a passion for our cause, and the ability to craft compelling proposals.

Your Impact on Career TEAM's Success:

  • Conduct in-depth research to identify and evaluate potential business leads and RFPs.
  • Stay updated on current grant trends, deadlines, and eligibility criteria.
  • Read, understand, and communicate RFP content clearly and intelligently to other Career Team employees to gather necessary information and data to support grant applications.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate Career Team's mission, impact, and budget needs.
  • Assemble and maintain qualifications and administrative requirements needed to respond to RFPs and other business development opportunities, including Career Team's profile, team bios and resumes, and past project descriptions.
  • Establish priorities and target dates for meeting proposal deadlines.
  • Assemble proposal components with close attention to format requirements and deadlines specified in the RFP.
  • Ensure content is compelling and customized for each RFP.
  • Proofread and finalize proposals and other deliverables.
  • Attend pre-proposal conferences or meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain a tracking system of leads and business development opportunities and issue regular updates for internal team members.
  • Track grant deadlines, submission requirements, and reporting obligations.
  • Maintain a detailed grant calendar and pipeline to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Follow up with funders to inquire about the status of applications and awards.
  • Read, synthesize, and contextualize materials into engaging and
  • compelling narratives.
  • Organize and manage information in creative ways.
  • Follow quality control guidelines and apply consistent attention to
  • detail.
  • Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset
  • Other duties and projects as needed

The Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include:

  • A minimum of two years of experience writing proposals, grant applications, or technical material.
  • A bachelor's degree in a field with a strong focus on writing and critical thinking, such as English, communications, or similar.
  • Fluency with punctuation, sentence structure, grammar, word usage, and syntax.
  • Ability to write clear and engaging narrative for both technical and non-technical audiences (and to understand the difference between the two).
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with content management tools.
  • Intellectual curiosity about the economic, social, environmental, and political trends that drive TIP's consulting engagements.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Travel: Minimal travel required for in-person rebids, conferences and other similar events.
