Creative Project Manager Job Summary
We’re looking for a fully remote, high-performing Creative Project Manager to join the communications office of a well-established and world-renowned Association on a long-term contract basis. The dynamic team you’d be joining conveys the wonder of science and the value of credible scientific information through video, podcast, social media, and written materials, as well as managing the organization’s brand and supporting strategic goals.
Candidates should adapt easily to changing requirements and work smoothly with internal and external partners to juggle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Candidates should have experience working on video projects and handling delivery of news on deadline. A strong interest in science or previous work for a scientific non-profit organization is another plus.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with enthusiastic, high-functioning teams across the organization.
- Work effectively with creative and technical partners.
- Oversee multiple projects at once from requirements definition through deployment.
- Establish schedules, scopes, budget estimations, implementation plans and risk mitigation.
- Track and analyze project status and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Support and advise the communications team on deployment of new software platforms.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to determine their needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as appropriate.
- Evaluate project effectiveness and efficiency and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably supporting a communications department or communications related projects.
- Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or design leadership is preferred.
- Experience in implementation of software platforms.
- Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
- Ability to communicate clearly to project participants and management.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively and adapt to changing requirements.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to gain buy-in from project participants.
- Working knowledge of HTML.
- Passion for science and science communications.
- Experience working in a deadline-driven news and/or video production environment.
