Corporate Communication Consultant Job at EMERGENT METHOD in Baton Rouge

Emergent Method is seeking an experienced corporate communication professional to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for leading and supporting a wide variety of strategic communication, public relations, and marketing projects, largely focused on supporting the firm’s private sector clients. This is a full-time position based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Remote candidates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate must be a resourceful self-starter who is enthusiastic about learning new subject matters and can successfully manage a certain degree of ambiguity. They must demonstrate strong copywriting and project management skills and an ability to create compelling content and messaging for a variety of media and deliverables. This individual should have a strong work ethic and attention to detail, a desire to continue growing professionally, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and to be a creative problem solver keen on developing and implementing strategic solutions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support client engagements related to strategic communication, public relations, corporate communication, stakeholder engagement, marketing, research, or other needs
• Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communication strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Use problem-solving skills to identify client needs, define goals and objectives, and coordinate and develop communication deliverables, plans, and campaigns that are strategic, comprehensive, and aligned with client goals
• Develop and execute a wide variety of internal and external communication tactics, including media releases, reports, proposals, speeches, company publications, public statements, social media content, and website content for a variety of projects and clients
• Utilize project management skills for proactive communication with clients and team members, documenting project progress and meetings, tracking and reporting progress on project milestones, understanding and anticipating client needs, developing appropriate timelines and processes, seeking feedback, and delivering outstanding deliverables and work products
• Demonstrate a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and complete tasks and projects with minimal oversight
• Serve as a trusted client resource and uphold the firm’s reputation by remaining client-focused and committed to delivering above and beyond expectations
• Function as a supportive and collaborative team member who appreciates that every task is an important part of a successful client engagement
• Manage competing priorities and multiple deliverables/projects

Minimum qualifications and expectations include:

• Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, public relations, marketing, or a related field
• Minimum of three years of experience in corporate communication, marketing, public relations, public outreach, communication consulting, or related experience that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Experience working in a corporate communication setting, with demonstrated ownership over internal and external communication, employee communication, business communication, executive-level communication, crisis communication, and/or media relations
• Demonstrated success in content development, with strong knowledge of AP and related style guidelines
• Ability to conceptualize and execute on a variety of communication efforts, including in-person, print, and digital communication
• Willingness to learn and understand a wide variety of subject matter related to client industries and ability to translate industry language to various stakeholders and audiences
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines
• Ability to manage projects and willingness to take ownership over timelines and work product
• Eagerness to build meaningful relationships with team members and clients
• Ability to navigate sensitive and/or confidential conversations with clients
• Ability to multitask, shifting from project to project and balancing competing priorities
• Willingness to learn new skills, adopt new methodologies, be openminded, and accept feedback
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
