Allegiance Strategies, LLC, a public affairs firm focused on helping clients build a freer, safer, and stronger world, seeks to hire a motivated, organized individual with relevant experience as our Community Manager for New York Solidarity Network (NYSN) beginning in July 2024.
New York Solidarity Network (NYSN) is a New York-based 501(c)4 membership organization that works to promote the American alliance with Israel and the tight-knit relationship the majority of New Yorkers, including Jewish New Yorkers, have with Israel. NYSN's members receive recommendations about how they can further advance our mission. NYSN is searching for a Community Manager who will execute strategic and effective member advocacy. We are looking for someone with experience and organizational skills who will support a team of seasoned operatives, consultants, and an active board of directors.
NYSN, founded in 2022, empowers elected and civil leaders while expressing solidarity with the Jewish community/Israel and creates a strong and sustainable donor network among our members to support the leaders, organizations, committees, and charities who align with our values.
This role reports to the Executive Director. NYSN is based in New York City with the scope of work covering the entire state of New York.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with the Executive Director to develop the organization's political plans, goals, and priorities
- Supporting the Board of Directors and Executive Director in meetings and with scheduling
- Being the first point of contact for NYSN members to include troubleshooting issues/providing guidance and opportunities for engagement
- Providing regular communication, including regular weekly email updates, to NYSN members
- Engaging with member-supported elected officials, civic leaders, candidates and their team members
- Maintaining social media presence
- Pursuing and developing strategic partnerships in coordination with ED and NYSN Board
- Creating and facilitating virtual cohort/affinity group spaces for mobilization, organizing, and advocacy
- Monitoring developments in the national and New York political landscape
- Assisting with fundraising events
- Representing NYSN at meetings and events in keeping with the organization’s mission, values, and reputation
The ideal candidate has:
- A minimum of 4 years of advocacy/political/campaign/organizing experience
- Experience managing field programs and developing field plans
- Campaign Management and/or Finance Director experience is a plus
- Basic understanding of New York State and City campaign finance laws is a plus
- A firm understanding of the role of a state and local legislator
- A history of pro-Israel advocacy
- A commitment to upholding the IHRA definition of antisemitism, including the bedrock principle of anti-Zionism falling into the category of antisemitic behavior
- Expert working knowledge of Twitter/X and other social media
- Deep working knowledge of Act Blue, Zoom, and Microsoft Office (VAN, ThruText a plus)
- An understanding of the New York political landscape
- Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, plan backward, anticipate obstacles, troubleshoot, and make smart judgment calls as needed in a fast-paced and changeable environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote situation

This position is full-time and has a salary range of $60,000-$80,000. This role is largely virtual and can be performed commuting distance of Washington DC or New York City. Minimal travel (to and from NYC semi-regularly/Albany on rare occasions) is required.
