Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

We are seeking a skilled and creative Content Specialist to join our marketing team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing content strategies that engage our audience, enhance our brand, and drive business goals. You will work closely with the marketing and design teams to create compelling written and visual content for various platforms. You will report and work under the general supervision of the Assistant Marketing Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Create and manage high-quality content for our website, blog, social media channels, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.
  • Develop content strategies that align with our marketing objectives and target audience.
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce visually engaging content, including infographics, videos, and images.
  • Conduct research to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
  • Optimize content for SEO to increase organic search visibility and drive traffic.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve engagement and conversions.
  • Develop educational content on financial topics such as investments, savings, retirement planning, market trends, and economic outlooks for various audience segments.
  • Assist in the development of content calendars and timelines.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Manage multiple content projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Use project management tools to track progress, communicate updates, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Receive feedback from stakeholders and incorporate revisions and improvements into content work, ensuring final deliverables meet expectations and objectives.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and efficiencies with the team and across the organization.
  • Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including legal disclaimers and disclosures.
  • Uphold the values, ethics, and mission and vision of Southern Bank in all design work and interactions.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

The position can be located at various Southern Bank branches (subject to available space) and work arrangements for this position may be flexible.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

- Strong understanding of content marketing principles and SEO best practices.

- Proficient in content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional content creation and marketing experience.
