Position SummaryCoa Solutions is committed to transforming government services for the betterment of the customers and taxpayers we serve. We sit at the intersection of delivering human centered, and accessible and inclusive solutions across critical government services. As a Content Designer at Coa (IRS) you will be working on Direct File - an innovative new tool that helps tax payers file their taxes with the IRS. You will be working with a full stack design team to help translate the tax code into clear instructions and tasks.What you'll doAble to learn, adapt, and add to existing design principles on the team by translating complex tax code into clear, task oriented instructions for tax filers Work with a leading and mature design team with fellow content, product, and interaction designers to transform complex tax code into a seamless filing experienceDeveloping, executing, and iterating on content design deliverables, often in collaboration with other design disciplines such as design research, UX design, product design, and visual design, and across disciplines with language translation, product management, and engineeringUnderstanding how content fits established product design patterns and engineering standards - and knowing when to extend those patterns and standardsWriting and managing clear, engaging, accessible user content in plain language that simplifies complex policies and allows a user to effortlessly navigate through complicated and consequential processesCreating and maintaining thoughtful documentation, including copy decks, style guides, decision logs, content governance, and moreRequired skillsAt least 5 years experience in end to end product design including baseline user and concept testingA self starter, able to dive into complex systems and autonomously create clarity for the design team on specific sections of the tax code Experience in creating ecosystemic mapping of complex services and how they interact Experience designing with web and responsive user interface best practicesDetail oriented and reliable supported by a curious mindset that drives user knowledge and product clarityHighly collaborative with a strategic mindset that helps build meaningful, collaboration across stakeholders and assess tradeoffs against short and long term needs Be able to take initiative to proactively (without being asked) and independently survey project and stakeholder needs, and communicate, suggest, collaborate, and execute on methods that will both ensure the scoped work is completed and also hone in on improvements moving forwardPreferred skillsPrior experience working in modernizing federal services Experience in implementing digital accessibility standards and internationalization Compensation range: $135,000 -$ 150,000 (2 month contract o hire)Other requirementsLived in the United States for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years.U.S. CitizenApplicants selected for this position may have to go through a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements to work and access classified informationBenefitsThis is a 2 month contract to hire position.
