The person is this role leads the use of content in driving both brand and business performance goals by overseeing the development and execution of global content marketing strategies & plans that resonate with Johnson Outdoor brand targets and drive KPIs, lead influencer and affiliate marketing (where applicable), and the program management across Johnson Outdoors brands. They will ensure programs align with Business Unit and eCommerce goals and drive Johnson Outdoors content marketing maturity.

The person is this role leads the use of content in driving both brand and business performance goals by overseeing the development and execution of global content marketing strategies & plans that resonate with Johnson Outdoor brand targets and drive KPIs, lead influencer and affiliate marketing (where applicable), and the program management across Johnson Outdoors brands. Key Responsibilities:
Content Marketing
- Strategy definition:
- Develops and drives comprehensive content marketing strategies and plans to improve our brand equities and perceptions, build brand loyalty, and generate revenue.
- Collaborates with Performance Media and Integrated Marketing to align with the broader Digital Marketing strategy and determine content marketing needs and sources
- Planning: Works with team to develop plans to meet aligned on goals and strategies including creating, curating, and attaining content from external sources (including influencers, endemic ad partners) for digital ad development, DTC sites, organic social, email marketing, PR, and other marketing channels. Seeks input cross-functionally.
- Influencer Management: Leads strategy, oversees plan development and monitors performance.
- Social media: Oversees development of organic social strategies, plans, and performance against aligned-on KPIs
- Community of Practice: Launches and oversees a Community of Practice focused on sharing success metrics, best practices, highlighting key wins, and fostering discussion on specific issues and solutions.
- Quality assurance: Oversees and ensures consistency of content globally across business units including optimization for platform search. Ensures consistency with digital marketing strategies.
- Tool management: Owns tools used for content development and distribution (e.g., organic social publishing, monitoring)
- Measurement and alignment: Collaborates with Digital Analytics to develop processes for measuring impact of and testing all forms of content produced, learning from analysis, and optimizing content approaches.
- Strategy definition:
- Develops and ensures effectiveness of affiliate marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and increase brand awareness, where applicable.
- Collaborates with BU affiliate marketing program owners to ensure alignment with broader brand and business goals.
- Measurement and tracking:
- Monitors and analyzes affiliate performance metrics to optimize campaigns and maximize ROI.
- Leads affiliate marketing testing and partners with Digital Analytics and relevant agencies on ROI analysis including impact on influencer program effectiveness and contribution margin.
- Tracks and consolidates reports on affiliate marketing performance to understand efficacy of programs and inform future execution/partner selection.
- Integration: Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of affiliate marketing initiatives with other marketing channels.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Manages, controls, and recommends budgets within approved guidelines.
- Coaches and mentors team members driving skill growth and development
- In partnership with human resources, performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes but is not limited to the following: hiring and terminating employees, promotions/pay adjustments, staff development, performance evaluations, resolution of employee concerns and disciplinary counseling.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management or equivalent.
- Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in managing organic social and affiliate marketing programs and managing marketing teams.
- Strong leadership experience and skills to manage, guide/coach and successfully lead teams and processes.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing a content strategy and plan for multiple brands, as well as managing internal and external resources.
- Experience in the full content development process (brief writing to content creation and curation); deep understanding of advanced marketing concepts that lead to improved brand measures and sales KPIs.
- Proficiency in data analysis enabling affiliate managers to identify trends, optimize campaigns, and make informed decisions based on performance metrics.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools and digital asset management.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization for search engines and social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Successful experience effectively managing business partnerships across multiple business units.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
