Design Project Manager (DPM) provides overall management of one or more specific engineering & design efforts to ensure that the client receives a project designed and engineered within the scope of the contract(s) to meet their needs on time and within budgets. Also, coordinates directly with project management, construction leadership team, either Austin's or others', to ensure constructability and support of construction operations. The DPM is responsible for the successful delivery of the engineering scope of work on a project, within the terms of the contract, on time, on budget and in service to the client and the business objectives of the project. Also, at times, acts as the liaison between the client and Austin. On engineering only project will function as the primary leader of the project, on design-build projects will function as the primary leader of the engineering effort, typically working under a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field with eight years or more of experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in multi-discipline project team leadership preferred. Field construction experience is a plus.
  • Professional Registration is preferred.
  • Prior job assignments typically include supervisory discipline engineer, discipline project lead, project engineer or project architect responsibilities.
  • Knowledgeable in project management software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, accounting, and organizational skills.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to travel to and work at the project site, this travel may be up to 40% of time.
