This position will offer the creative flexibility to develop, specify, and implement interior and exterior retail designs, collaborating with the branding department.

Job Description

This candidate should be growth and detail-oriented, a good communicator, and passionate about all aspects of the design process. You must be a team player and able to work in a collaborative environment, blending creative talent with industry knowledge. Great technology and interior design skills and a minimum of five years of experience and expertise in renovations and ground-up construction projects are necessary.


Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or related field experience. CIDQ, or NCIDQ preferred.
  • Minimum five years of interior design experience in retail and corporate interior projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Formz, InDesign, Enscape
  • Must have knowledge of interior/architectural vendors such as flooring, furniture, window treatments, etc.
  • Experience in custom millwork and casework designs
  • Experience with C-Suite level presentations and client interface.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team, including branding and construction.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and well-disciplined.
  • Ability to work with budgets and deadlines.
  • Ability to provide weekly project updates.


Responsibilities

  • Review branding surveys and initial program notes for all assigned projects to strengthen understanding of the project design intent and objective.
  • Work closely with the client, architect, and project manager to understand the client’s needs and vision, then provide the necessary content for project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with architects and branding designers from concept through project completion.
  • Be an active participant and resource in selecting the appropriate furniture vendor and architectural wall resources.
  • Collaborate with vendors while nurturing relationships with existing manufacturer reps to maintain an updated library of finishes. Work on establishing new relationships with vendors and manufacturer reps.
  • Research new trends and approaches to retail spaces and how they relate to financial institutions. Report findings to the team.
  • In collaboration with the project architect and the branding designer, source materials and products to create 'mood boards' to represent the design vision.
  • Collaborate with the project team and branding designer to utilize computer applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp to represent concepts from space planning, elevations, and branding opportunities.
  • Travel is occasionally required to meet with clients, visualize subject spaces and buildings, and as the position requires.
  • When able, attend final walkthroughs to review the design after completion. Participate in project close-out reviews with the project team to determine whether client goals have been met.
