Technical Staffing Resources is hiring: Piping Designer in Richmond

TSR is seeking a Piping Designer with to work with one of the largest EPC firms in the country. This is a long term contract position in Richmond, VA. Position will be onsite only with a flexible work schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, develop detailed scopes. 
• Work from P&ID's, client specifications and vendor data to design complex piping systems for chemical facility. 
• Create isometrics, pipe supports   
• Ensures that completed design is functional, maintainable and designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintain 
• Interface with other disciplines 

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the design and layout of process piping and equipment 
• Proficient in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation, E3D or PDMS is preferred
• Must have extensive fieldwork experience in chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environments
• Some work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and man-lifts

Physical Requirements

• Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
• Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
• Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20lbs frequently
• Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
• May require walking the plant property
