Position Summary:
ANSER has an immediate opening for a Technical Editor/Communication Specialist to support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Research and Development Directorate. As the Technical Editor / Communications Specialist you will develop communications and marketing materials as well as provide technical editing and writing support.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Author and/or editor for official documents and written packages (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) for Director's approval and signature
- Serve as Directorate point of contract for matters related to written media, communications services and products, and web presence
- Manage adherence to a style guide for all branding and messaging. Ability to lead revision and updates to the Directorate's style guide
- Develop and revise editorial/communications standard operating procedures
- Support additional activities such as preparing the newsletter, developing workshop and training materials
- Frequently interface with high-level military, government, intelligence, and corporate personnel on matters related to communications media, documents and web presence
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in related field such as graphic design, english, creative writing, journalism, communications, technology or other similarly relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years progressive experience writing, designing and developing communication materials in various formats and platforms.
- Expert level experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate across various levels including senior leaders, military leaders and stakeholders
- Familiarity with the role of the R&D Directorate within the DoD acquisition lifecycle framework and the technology transition process
- Familiarity with military operations in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) environments
- Experience with CATMS or other tasker management system
