ASSOCIATE EDITOR/Performance Racing Industry (PRI)
This role is in our Diamond Bar, CA location and is in-office daily. Out of area candidates seeking remote opportunities will not be considered.

Since its inception in 1986, Performance Racing Industry (PRI) has served as the motorsports industry's key source for trends, merchandising ideas, new products, business strategies, and more. Through the world's premier auto racing trade show in Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as PRI's award-winning monthly business magazine, digital platforms and social networks, motorsports industry members from all over the world remain at the cutting edge of the worldwide racing marketplace. Founded by racing entrepreneur Steve Lewis, PRI was purchased by SEMA in 2012.
The annual PRI Trade Show features over 1,000 companies exhibiting in more than 3,400 booths and showcasing the latest products, services, machinery, simulation and testing technologies, and trailers for the racing industry at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. Launched in 1988, the Show encompasses all forms of racing and attracts attendees from all 50 states and across the globe, including professional race teams, retail shops, warehouse distributors, engine builders, fabricators, dealers, installers, jobbers and media.

PURPOSE:
Contributes to the content and production of Performance Racing Industry Magazine across all platforms. Works within editorial department and closely with art department and sales team to efficiently produce industry-leading content.

Salary Range: This position's estimated annual base salary is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. Actual base salary will be dependent on individual's skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for 401k Savings plan, Healthcare (medical, dental and vision), and other generous rewards.

PURPOSE:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
- Resource and assemble relevant, high-quality content for PRI Magazine. Volume of content production determined by management and fluctuating business needs.
- Compile and write regular editorial features and departments that may include interactive sidebars, captions and pull quotes as assigned by Editor. Volume of content production determined by management and business needs.
- Spearhead outreach efforts and engage with sources for story ideas and content.
- Build, organize, update and manage source lists and photo archives, and communicate with and help manage our team of freelance writers and photographers.
- Assist in the production of PRI's education program, which includes both in-person and online training and professional development for motorsports industry members and enthusiasts.
- Assist in additional/late contact duties, which includes reaching out to industry sources, conducting interviews and generating write-ups.
- Assist with copywriting, copyediting, proofreading and photography whenever required.
- Contact sources for photography for feature articles.
- Help coordinate invoicing/accounting with PRI outside contractors.
- Research and identify product and industry trends for feature article content.
- When directed by management, perform other assignments and duties as required.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to Editorial Director.
- Interfaces with all levels of staff.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Minimum of bachelor's degree from accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
- Must have excellent knowledge of the English language.
- Some motorsports knowledge is required.
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Must be able to write lively, interesting copy.
- Must work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work with different personality types.
