The Deputy Editor-in-Chief is responsible for assisting the Editor-in-Chief in running the newspaper. Normal responsibilities including assisting in planning story assignments and layouts, assisting writers in the completion of their articles, writing articles and recruitment.

Qualifications
- MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY- FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIRED
Experience in journalism, communication, or English preferred.
Description of Hours: 6-8 hours per week

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees and assists with the overall writing of the paper
- Meets weekly with section editors to discuss progress of the paper
- Attends weekly general staff meetings
- Maintains weekly-posted office hours in The Xavierite office. (6 hours per week)
- Meets and works with Section correspondents in generating story ideas
- Trains Section correspondents on InDesign and Photoshop
- Will upload final PDF copy of the paper to Park Press' FTP if Editor in Chief is unable to
- Meets weekly with Xavierite webmasters to ensure that website has up to date information.
- Meets weekly with Assistant Director of Campus Life: Student Media to discuss progress on the paper
- Writes one article per issue
