Job Description
Second Nature Brands is on a mission to grow from $500M to $1B over the next 3 years through an aggressive combination of M&A and organic growth (increased distribution, e-commerce, and innovation). We have an opening for a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Graphic Designer in the Metro Detroit Area. This role will report to the Creative Manager and will design and create marketing materials for retail stores, social media and other platforms.
Responsibilities include working on packaging renders and minor packaging updates, managing and maintain the SNB image library, and collaborating with our design and marketing teams to deliver visually compelling content. Applicant should be proficient with Adobe Suite and should be able to produce high-quality materials while adhering to deadlines.
Essential Duties
- Packaging: Create packaging renderings and own minor packaging updates as needed through our internal review process.
- Creative: Work with Brand Teams and Customer Marketing Team to create collateral and manage the review process to incorporate feedback into creative
- SNB Asset Library: Create, maintain and organize an SNB Asset Library ensuring easy accessibility and consistent use.
- Retail Store: Design and create marketing working closely with Director of Retail Operations
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs align with the brand guidelines and visual identity.
- Photo/Video: Assist photo/video shoots
- Research & Trends: Stay updated on design trends, tools, and techniques to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- 1 year professional graphic design experience, including internship(s) or freelance work
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work and creativity.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign
- Understanding design concepts: knowledge of working within brand guidelines (layout, color, typography)
- Solution oriented (problem solver)
- Good communication skills
- Preferred: understanding of Photography to assist with photo shoots
