Position Overview

The Marketing Manager will lead marketing initiatives for RockStep Capital’s shopping center properties, corporate brand, and investor communications. As a key contributor to the marketing team, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, and executing marketing strategies, with specific focus areas in budget management, mall/shopping center marketing, and corporate marketing.

Key Responsibilities
5% Budget Management
  • Annual Marketing Budget: Develop and maintain the annual marketing budget with agency support and senior management, ensuring alignment with monthly promotional plans.
  • Cost Tracking and Reporting: Monitor monthly promotional costs, accurately track expenditures against the budget, and submit invoices for payment.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely data entry for budget and promotional expenses.
35% Marketing Strategy and Planning
  • Property Marketing Plans: Collaborate with each property location to create and implement an annual marketing plan tailored to special events, sales, and key action items.
  • Investor Relations: Partner with the Investor Relations team to strategize and deliver marketing and communications for current and prospective investors.
  • Internal Communications: Work with HR to develop a consistent internal communication calendar for RockStep employees, enhancing engagement and internal brand alignment.
30% Mall / Shopping Center Marketing
  • Event and Promotion Management: Lead the annual property marketing plan, coordinating events, sales, and promotions with property teams and handling logistics.
  • Website Updates: Regularly update websites with new tenant information, event details, and promotions to maintain fresh, engaging online content.
  • Media and Local Representation: Act as the spokesperson for property-related media engagements and maintain strong relationships with local organizations.
  • Advertising Opportunities: Identify and propose advertising and promotional opportunities that align with RockStep’s goals and support brand visibility.
  • Relationship Management: Foster a collaborative working relationship with marketing agencies and review and update location websites monthly to ensure timely promotion execution.
30% Corporate Marketing
  • Employee Communications: Develop and manage internal marketing communications to enhance employee engagement and brand alignment within RockStep.
  • Investor Relations Support: Work closely with the Investor Relations team to maintain consistent and effective communication strategies.
  • Website Management: Oversee RockStep’s corporate website, ensuring content accuracy, fresh updates, and optimized user experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in real estate, retail, or shopping center sectors.
  • Proficiency in managing marketing budgets and tracking financial metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in media and community relations.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools, RetailNext, and website management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
