D701 Navy Facility Engineering and Training Technologies team is seeking a Multi Media Analyst to utilize creative skills and digital tools to visualize, design, and produce computer-generated 3D graphics and animations for various platforms, using industry-standard software in support of operational and technical training, Interactive Media Instruction (IMI), and other specialized educational programs for the U.S. Navy submarine fleet personnel. The individual will primarily be responsible for learning technology, delivering training solutions in accordance with U.S. Navy Educational Training Command (NETC) standards and Submarine On Board Training (SOBT) guidelines for major ship systems, e.g., Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E), Common Missile Compartment (CMC), and Steam Electrical Plant (SEP).
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of 3D design and animation, with the ability to present information in an engaging and visually compelling manner. The Multi Media Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and production staff along with various NAVSEA groups and Electric Boat ship specification engineers, designers, and technical specialists to support the design and development of eLearning courses for a variety of digital learning products utilized on board U.S. Navy Submarines and shore-based facilities.
This position is sponsored by Navy Facility Engineering and Training Technologies and reports directly to the Program Supervisor for D701.
Responsibilities include:
- Conceptualize, design, and create three-dimensional models and visual effects.
- Render both hard surface and organic models in 3D.
- Create 3D animations and effects that are integrated into multimedia campaigns and products.
- Collaborate with design teams to understand project requirements and conceptualize creative ideas.
- Use software and other technology to create, design, and animate 3D images.
- Work closely with animators, designers, and other artists to create project assets.
- Modify and refine designs using working models to confirm that they meet production and output requirements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, software updates, and new techniques to maintain competitiveness.
- Document project development processes and keep an organized library of models, animations, and textures.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 4+ years as a 3D Graphic Artist or similar role.
- Proficient in 3D design tools such as Unity, Unreal, 3D Max, Blender, etc. (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or other non-linear editing software.
- Portfolio showcasing 3D design skills, creativity, and understanding of color, texture, and light.
- Knowledge of 2D/3D animation techniques.
- Ability to possess a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Animation or relevant field.
- Experience using interactive courseware development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate or Adobe Animate.
Skills:
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and deliver completed productions within established timelines.
