The Public Finance Initiative (PFI) (), a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE, works with communities and their stakeholders to develop research, education, and technical assistance programs that center the values of equity, sustainability, and inclusive growth in the domain of public finance.
TSNE (formerly Third Sector New England) () is a management support organization that partners every year with hundreds of nonprofits, foundations, community-based groups, and others working for social change. Our mission is to provide information and services to build the knowledge, power, and effectiveness of individuals, organizations, and groups that engage people in community and public life. The ultimate intention of TSNEs work is to create a more just and democratic society. PFI is a fiscally sponsored organization of TSNE.
The Communications & Social Media Intern will be responsible for posting news and media items for the Public Finance Initiative on our social media platforms, including: LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram, about PFI and our partners.
Essential Functions
- Monitoring social media platforms for news about PFI, our partners, and the industry
- Posting daily on social media platforms about PFI, our partners, and our work in order to grow our followers and engage key audiences
- Supporting PFIs larger communications activities, including attending team events/partner events where possible, in order to live tweet and ensure we have an online presence
- Developing creative ideas to help grow PFIs online digital footprint and market our programs and activities as we begin to grow our online presence.
- Complete other tasks and projects related to the job, as needed.

- Pursuing an undergraduate or advanced graduate degree in communications or experience working in communications roles
- Strong attention to detail and strong analysis skills;
- Strong writing skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while working remotely and independently;
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, team player, and professional demeanor with strong communication skills and a positive attitude;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits
Location: Work will be primarily performed Boston, MA. Work is eligible for 100% remote work; the employee may work in any location.
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $20.00/hr.
Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.
