Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Multimedia Analyst. The Multimedia Analyst within Nevada Online reports to the Vice Provost of Online Learning. The Multimedia Analyst is primarily responsible for creating accessible and engaging multimedia elements for online classes. This position works closely with the faculty course developers, instructional designers, and instructional technologists to develop multimedia content, including but not limited to digital images, animations, videos, digital simulations, and interactive elements.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Consult with faculty members to identify animation, graphics and multimedia needs to produce new and creative solutions to address faculty needs.
  • Leads, designs, and develops trainings involving 3D scanning, along with processing endpoint data from scans.
  • Collaborates with University @One Digital Media and Technology Center staff to provide support to online faculty incorporating Virtual Reality elements, lightboard video, dynamic media, and more.
  • Provides regular updates or reports to stakeholders on the status of project completion. Provides regular internal reports regarding overall project status for the team. Creates reports to inform team of students of incoming new projects and overall resource allocation and timelines.
  • Gives direction to student team members regarding coordination of work and prioritization of projects. Anticipates issues that may arise. Recommends reallocation of resources, as needed, to ensure that deadlines can be met.
  • Reviews animation and graphic project proposals and consults with stakeholders to identify scope, expected deliverables, and required resources. This can include, but is not limited to, faculty generated data or inputs, student worker expertise needed, and time required to complete the project.
  • Manages and assigns animation projects that involve student workers. Reviews work from student workers for quality assurance.
  • Analyzes and resolves multimedia-related issues, supports faculty on content updates for Nevada Online courses.
  • Identifies emerging technologies and resources that can be used to enhance and improve the quality and completion rate of media projects.
  • Serves as a member of Nevada Online teams as assigned. Provides service to Nevada Online by working on departmental, division, university, regional and national committees, and projects, serving as a representative of Nevada Online.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; OR

Master's degree and one year of related experience

Related experience: Graphic design, video production, animation, video game development, illustration, and/or web design or related.

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees

Nevada Online is a newly formed department which is leading the online learning initiative for the University. This is a progressive department who supports faculty and students within the online modality of learning. The primary focus of this department is to support faculty to ensure online learners receive a quality education from anywhere at any time. Online learners are able to access numerous courses and programs offered by the same qualified faculty as campus.
