Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position)

The Photographer/Multimedia Specialist will be part of the Student Operations Team (or Ops Team), which supports the administrative, data, marketing and technology needs of the office. Each member of the team will specialize in a specific area of operations and contribute to other efforts of the team as needed.

  • Complete in-depth training on St. Olaf career and vocational resources
  • Apply marketing and digital media skills in a professional context
  • Contribute ideas for making the Piper Center even more effective
  • Get to know the professional staff of the Piper Center
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Photograph Piper Center events for marketing, documentation, and alumni outreach
  • Photograph student headshots for curated LinkedIn profiles
  • Manage and organize photos and photography sessions using Lightroom, Google Drive, Smugmug, Tightrope, and Google Calendar
  • Film, edit and manage promotional and instructional videos, using Adobe Premiere or iMovie
  • Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Wordpress, and basic HTML could also be helpful
  • Work with Piper Center staff to understand staff expectations and event audiences
  • Contribute to marketing strategy
As members of the broader Operations Team, Photographer/Multimedia Specialists may also:
  • Enter job and internship information to Handshake.
  • Contribute ideas for making the Operations Team and the Piper Center even more effective.
Operations Team members are expected to work 6 hours per week.

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
  • Experience and proficiency using DSLR cameras to take high-quality photographs
  • Ideal candidates will also have some experience with video editing (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently and to collaborate effectively with staff
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Desire to work in a professional office setting
  • Positive attitude and interest in the Piper Center's programs and resources
