FULL-TIME MUSIC THERAPY FACULTY POSITION

SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

The Department of Human Performance, Division of Physical Therapy at West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track (12-month) Clinical Music Therapy Instructor to contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in clinical teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful applicant will assist the current faculty in providing clinical services in WVU Medicine facilities. This position is based upon expanding demand for clinical services, with special emphasis on adult oncology.

Responsibilities: include development and implementation of clinical music therapy services in various units of the hospital system and outpatient clinic servicing oncology patient, providing clinical supervision for practicum students and interns. Job duties include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of clinical services in Adult Oncology, providing professional in-service presentations as necessary, providing clinical supervision to music therapy students and interns, and participating in ongoing music therapy research. This individual will collaborate with the Director of Clinical Music Therapy Education and Practice to develop and implement services across adult oncology, participate in community outreach, and collaborate actively within a collegial faculty.

The candidate must meet the following criteria for consideration:

* Hold a Bachelor's Degree in music therapy

* Must be board-certified music therapist (MT-BC)

* Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in an out-patient/in-patient facility

All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Preferred qualifications are:

* Master's Degree in Music Therapy or related field

* Member of the American Music Therapy Association
