Job Description
The Junior Photographer for Primitives By Kathy® (PBK) is an integral part of the day-to-day operations. Working side by side with our amazing team of photographers, assisting with the production of product photography and digital asset processing. The position requires expertise with technical and creative aspects of image production. Candidate should be able to perform color correction, color match, layer masks, clean up, image manipulation, and show strong asset organization skills.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Represent PBK professionally, responsibly, and passionately to all stakeholders.
- Maintain PBK’s studio equipment so we have updated software, schedule regular equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment that’s not working.
- Work alongside creative team to concept, produce, and execute on-brand content for catalogs, trade publications, social media, and website.
- Perform color correction and merchandise matching, cosmetic retouching, cropping, and final file output.
- Analyze image content, determine necessary enhancements and adjustments.
- Follow image and retouching guidelines to ensure image standards are maintained and consistent.
- Collaborate with Team to adhere to and successfully meet projected goals.
- Staying up to date with photography and trends as they pertain to content.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Competencies:
- Understands, is passionate about, and has a finger on the pulse of all photography trends.
- Desire and ability to work under pressure under tight deadlines for multiple projects.
- Must have working knowledge of color correction based on RGB color space and conversion to CMYK to meet web and print industry standards for reproduction.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- File editing and file management of all products photographed.
- Highly organized and well structured, with the ability to give meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments, as well as independently.
- Must be exceptionally detail oriented, with the ability to take feedback, make changes and progress at a pace necessary to meet tight deadlines and goals.
- Commitment to professionalism, hard work, and high-quality creativity.
Education and Experience: - BS/BA degree in photography or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of professional photography experience is required.
- Must have lighting and equipment experience.
- Experience working with digital asset and content management tools is preferred.
- Video editing experience and interest in social media content is a plus.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel
Local travel to photo shoots may be required.
