Job DescriptionNBCUniversal’s KXAS is seeking a highly motivated and driven News Reporter to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will gather, investigate, and report breaking news, delivering compelling content across multiple platforms, including on-air, online, and streaming.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for investigative journalism and experience covering law enforcement, with a proven ability to build strong sources within the community. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a breaking news environment, excels under tight deadlines, and consistently pitches unique and impactful enterprise stories.

Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of television reporting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of live reporting and strong storytelling skillset
- Proven experience working on investigative stories
- Experience building deep sources in community
- The ability to collaborate across broader newsroom
- Excellent writing skillset
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Experience contributing to non-linear platforms
- Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure
- Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news
Desired Characteristics
- Bilingual in English & Spanish reading, speaking, and writing
- General assignment reporting skills preferred
- Ability to enterprise stories
- Experience with digital editing and photography a plus
- Experience working simultaneously on web products
- Strong knowledge of social networking in relygard to content gathering and distribution
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX, just south of DFW airport
- Must submit a video/reel/demo of work to be considered
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be 18 years or greater
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be able to work long hours and a variety of shifts, when necessary
- Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program
