Tesla is looking for an outstanding User Experience Designer to design the future of our vehicle fulfillment and ownership experiences in the Tesla app. You will be responsible for researching, designing, innovating, prototyping and testing new digital experiences that pave the way for the future of energy and vehicles in a way that has never been done before. Our experiences are transforming the way consumers, businesses, and municipalities transition to EVs and sustainable energy.
As a member of the UX Design organization, you will be at the forefront of transforming the digital landscape for Tesla's energy and vehicles across the globe. You will be responsible for designing the Tesla vehicle fulfillment and ownership experiences including charging, service and roadside, support, Tesla Insurance and Tesla Assist. You will collaborate with sales teams, product owners, designers, engineers, global partners and will be a key contributor and originator. You will conceptualize, design, measure impact and implement best-in-class digital experiences to help owners effortlessly charge and get help when needed. We expect exceptional design skills, creative problem-solving and a great sense of aesthetics. The experiences of Tesla.com are innovative, simple, and minimalistic.

Responsibilities

  • Research and define UX strategy, contribute to the overall product and design direction from a concept to implementation
  • Develop creative and innovative design solutions for product education and purchase experiences that help guide various types of customers from different backgrounds and with different requirements
  • Constantly measure how designs are performing for target customers; iterate and improve those experiences as needed
  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion with engineers and other partners; invest in building relationships and trust with stakeholders
  • Present work to partners, stakeholders and senior leaders regularly
  • Define and share Tesla UX design standards and guidelines. Advocate for consistency across team members and partners
Requirements
  • Degree in the study of design, portfolio that shows equivalent project experience or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience designing interactive applications for web
  • An excellent portfolio showcasing user experience, visual design and UI work with a strong design sensibility and excellent, user centric storytelling
  • Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills, ability to think through complex interaction design
  • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique

      $88,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
