Southern Sound & Lighting is hiring: Video and General Technicians in Houston

We are looking for Video and General Technicians who are self-starters who also work well with others as a team. These individuals will work with the latest and cutting-edge technology on a daily basis. Our technicians are the front line of our operations. They set, operate, and strike for events. Our goal is to provide a perfectly executed event at all times. Our clients are mainly corporate.

What you will do:

• Prep, set, and strike different audio, video or lighting equipment and keep inventory updated at all times
• Operate Video equipment as a Video Technician or be familiar with Audio/Video/Lighting equipment as a General Technician
• Be a quick learner and problem solver
• Determine equipment shortages while preparing equipment orders and offer substitutions
• Keep open lines of communication with management at all times
• Follow strict guidelines and a rigid schedule
• Be able to work long days
• Represent our company in a professional manner and follow grooming and attire policies in place
• Continue our long-standing respectful relationship with clients and venue staff
• Work in a fast paced, ever changing environment where input is always appreciated
• Protect company equipment as if it were your own and report any damages to respective personnel
• Always maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Any other duties that are assigned

What your background should be: Video Technicians

• Experience with video technology
• Should have strong experience with video switchers, especially Black Magic
• Camera operation is a must
• Comfortable setting up through networks and streaming
• Able to use Power Point
• Familiar with Creative Cloud Suite
• Experience with LED wall set up and operation is a plus
• Minimum 2 years experience

What your background should be: General Technicians

• Experience with A/V technology
• Minimum one year of experience
