Overview

This position holds responsibility for building the visual merchandising direction to provide standards for various departments and cross-functional partners to be executed in Cavender's stores. This will include visual directives to support private label, new and existing product, in addition to seasonal shifts and special events in stores.This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Visual Merchandising and will collaborate heavily with cross-functional teams such as Merchandising and Marketing and Stores.The Visual Merchandising Coordinator in partnership with the Sr. Manager of Visual Merchandising is responsible for managing store layouts, displays, windows and in-store signage. They will work closely with the Sr. Manager of Visual Merchandising on the creation and production of in-store promotional sale signs. The Visual Merchandising Coordinator will need to have a good understanding of visual merchandising principles, a high level of accuracy and efficiency, great attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This role must have a steady focus on the customer experience and has a customer first attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Serve as a strong partner and key support resource to the company
  • Creates and maintains new and existing store directives and standards
  • Partners with training team and district visual merchandising leads in communication and executing key visual merchandising programs to ensure standards are kept throughout the year
  • Writes new and existing product merchandising and visual merchandising presentation direction
  • Manages communication of all product changes and seasonal resets including partnering with the Sr. Manager of Visual Merchandising to identify fixture, sign and graphic opportunities and consistency
  • Builds, executes and maintains weekly/monthly/quarterly visual merchandising calendar
  • Partners with our Buyers and their teams related to the remerchandising of existing products, new product introductions including all exclusive brands
  • Supports the Sr. Manager of Visual Merchandising in their management of priorities and allocation of resources to implement company directives, standards and initiatives
  • Manages monthly store fixture and signage request programs
  • Works directly with Buyers to suggest and direct product placement based on new and existing floorplans
  • Directs and recommends product presentation according to the Visual Merchandising and Buying Department direction
  • Understands the strategic Visual Merchandising plans and executes towards them
  • Communicates and demonstrates company standards as they relate to visual merchandising practices and guidelines and the importance of Visual Merchandising to our selling efforts and service elements
  • Proactively identifies necessary merchandising improvements and formulates and directs necessary changes
  • Partners with Sr. Manager of Visual Merchandising to determine and develop the necessary fixtures and installations in support of department resets and new product introductions while keeping store floorplans current
  • Research current industry trends and remain on the cutting edge of visual design and merchandising
  • Consistently meet deadlines, be open to change and take creative direction as needed

Qualifications and Requirements
  • 2+ years of successful visual merchandising experience
  • 3+ years of experience in retail
  • Detailed knowledge of the product and industry is a plus
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a quick, calm problem-solving approach. Positive, helpful attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Takes ownership and accountability for project planning, oversight, and execution
  • Ability to engage key stakeholders and gain respect across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to refine processes in a creative environment
  • Strong leader capable of creating trust, collaboration, teamwork; always displaying a strong sense of ethics and integrity. Strong leadership skills, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Strong industry understanding and proven creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent creative thinker in areas including merchandising, styling, store layout, and directives
  • Adherence to the brand's goals, philosophy and policy regarding marketing and sales strategies
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills and proficiency
  • Based in Tyler, TX at the Home Office
  • Travel up to 15% will be required

Preferred Skills
  • BA in Fine Arts or Graphic Design, or related degree or experience preferred
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Ability to handle confidential or proprietary information with discretion
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
