The Visual Analytics team, part of the Consumption & Insights Generation organization within the Central Data & Analytics function in the Chief Technology Office, is responsible for creating a unified analytics experience. We empower users to tap into data and interactive analytics across the enterprise, supporting a range of functions from scientific research to commercial operations.
In this role, as the Visual Analytics Technical Architect, you will develop and design scalable, high-performance architecture solutions for enterprise analytics platforms.
Whether your background is in software, infrastructure architecture, or engineering, or you come from a modern data analytics environment, you’ll bring expertise in designing analytics solutions. You’ll collaborate with technology vendors, delivery partners, internal stakeholders, and support resources to apply both emerging and established technologies that enhance our enterprise analytics strategy.
Primary job responsibilities include:
- Lead the architecting, designing and planning activities related to Visual Analytics products.
- Contribute to Visual Analytics technology roadmap and future state capabilities.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed teams in support of product architecture activities.
- As a senior subject matter expert help drive the definition of best practices, platform governance and platform delivery guidelines.
- Write technical documentation including, but not limited to configuration artifacts, infrastructure/technical diagrams, etc.
- Maintain current industry knowledge of Visual Analytics best practices and procedures.
- Be an integral employee to mentor junior colleagues to help them grow skills and capabilities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Education Minimum Requirement:
- BSc in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated platform engineering/technical architect area using Agile methodologies.
- Experience in architecting, building and supporting large scale visual analytics platforms and solutions using modern cloud technologies and automation principles.
- Experience in software and architecture design patterns.
- Experience in AWS or Azure deployments.
- Experience in gathering user requirements and feedback to continually improve the user experience and drive adoption of visual analytics solutions would be valuable.
- Given the sensitive nature of data in the pharmaceutical industry, expertise in data security, privacy regulations, and implementing secure data access controls.
- Skills and experience related to data management, ETL, and business intelligence data modeling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Release Management, Problem and Incident Management, Software Development Life Cycle best practices and project methodologies.
- Confident individual who is organized, able to coordinate teams and activities in a complex international environment.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with Spotfire, Qlik Sense, Power BI or other analytics tools.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts and their integration with analytics platforms.
- Cross-product communication/integration experience.
- Agile and/or Product Management Certifications.
- Prior experience in Enterprise SaaS product management with successful traction in development, launch and growth of products.
- Certifications in one or more cloud technologies.
- Prior experience in developing and launching multi-tenant platforms that cater to technical user base.
- Previous experience in Life sciences and Pharma domain.
