Job Description
MRC seeks a Technical Writer III who will work directly with subject matter experts (and their associated research materials) to develop, write, and edit technical content including reports, manuals, briefs, memos, and related publications. These scientific and technical publications document the research and development (as well as installation, operation, and maintenance) of machinery, equipment, and other technologies. The Technical Writer III works on deadline on multiple projects to produce publications that are consistent, concise, and clear.
Job Requirements
This qualified candidate may perform the following tasks:
•Work directly with publication authors, stakeholders, and sponsors.
•Properly write, format, and edit publications,
•Maintain records, files, and revisions for multiple in-progress publications,
•Work with and format multimedia content,
•Arrange for the publishing and distribution of materials, and
•Write miscellaneous white papers, articles, and other content as needed.
Candidate must be highly experienced with Microsoft (MS) Office applications (specifically MS Word). Familiarity with working in an MS Teams environment is highly desirable. Requires 5+ years of relevant experience in technical writing and editing.
Additional writing and editing experience outside of technical and science areas is desired but not required. Candidates with some background in journalism, public affairs, or marketing/public relations are preferred.
