****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Other Conditions: Position is a temporary casual hire position and offers no benefits, hours not to exceed 19.75 hours per week. All positions require successful completion of a background check.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, individual must operate the following equipment and perform various duties during UH sporting events.
  2. Operate the Daktronics Video Board Systems at the Stan Sheriff Center, T.C. Ching Athletics Complex, Les Murakami Baseball Stadium, and the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium, and the Broadcast Pix switcher-board system at the Stan Sheriff Center.
  3. Responsible for providing scoreboard content that provides live game action, replays, statistics, and promotional activities.
  4. Responsible for featuring Corporate Partner brands and messages, as well as fan information.
  5. Train student game day managers on Video Board and Camera Operators.
  6. Operate the Sony HD wireless video camera during sporting events at the Stan Sheriff Center.
  7. Capture on-court promotional contests and interactive activities with fans in the stands.
  8. Responsible for video equipment, including securing equipment daily, and maintaining the operations of the camera.
  9. Troubleshoot technical issues that might arise with the camera during events.
  10. Serves as Gameday DJ using discretion in selecting appropriate songsfrom the song library spanning numerous decades and genres.
  11. Responsible for keeping the game day energy high and the student- athletes, staff and fans entertained throughout the game.
  12. Maintain a collaborative and positive working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals and appropriate relationships with members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in Athletics.
  13. Maintains confidentiality to include but not limited to information, files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess, in accordance with federal and state laws and University of Hawaii policies.
  14. Know, recognize and comply with the laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University of Hawai'i and its employees, and the rules of the NCAA and affiliated conferences as now constituted or as may be amended in the future.
  15. Immediately advises the Director of Athletics or designee if there are reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees, students, or others, have occurred or will occur.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Graduation from an accredited college or university.
  2. Some experience in entertainment production.
  3. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range of problems that may commonly occur in a professional environment.
  5. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  6. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
  7. Excellent project management skills.
  8. Ability to maintain composure while under the stress, pressure and time-sensitive demands of the job.
  9. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  10. Knowledge of MAC and PC based computer systems and software.
  11. Or equivalent education/training or experience.
