What does the role look like?

As a Media Buyer at Whop, you will be responsible for driving measurable growth by managing and optimizing paid advertising campaigns across multiple platforms. Your main goal is to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS) while scaling campaigns efficiently. You will work closely with internal teams, including creative, marketing, and analytics, to ensure campaigns align with broader business objectives and drive growth.

In this role, you'll focus on strategic planning, execution, and performance analysis of ad campaigns, while also building strong relationships with key ad platform representatives (e.g., Meta, Google, TikTok). You'll act as the go-to expert on media buying strategies, testing frameworks, and campaign optimization to achieve aggressive growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid media campaigns on platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, Google, and others.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies for creatives, audiences, placements, and bidding to maximize performance.
  • Monitor campaign performance daily, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in ROAS and CAC (customer acquisition cost).
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop high-performing ad creatives tailored to platform-specific audiences.
  • Build and manage relationships with ad platform representatives to access beta features, troubleshoot issues, and stay ahead of platform changes.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights to inform broader marketing strategies.
  • Partner with analytics teams to track and attribute conversions accurately, ensuring proper tracking via platforms like Google Analytics, Pixel, and UTM links.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, platform updates, and competitor strategies to maintain a cutting-edge approach to media buying.
Tools & Resources You'll Be Given:
  • A quarterly budget for testing and scaling campaigns.
  • Access to a creative team for ad design and video production.
  • Tools for tracking and optimizing campaigns, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and third-party platforms (e.g., Hyros, Triple Whale).
  • A list of pre-qualified audiences and interests to help accelerate performance during onboarding.
  • Direct support from a marketing strategist and analytics specialist to ensure accurate reporting and actionable insights.
What Your First 90 Days Will Look Like:
  • Within 30 days: Develop a strong understanding of Whop's brand, product, and target audience. Familiarize yourself with existing ad campaigns, reporting systems, and creative workflows. Begin running campaigns and conduct performance audits of current media buying strategies.
  • Within 60 days: Launch and test new campaigns, producing at least a 10% improvement in ROAS for at least one platform. Present a roadmap for scaling budgets based on early wins and insights.
  • Within 90 days: Achieve 30% of your performance quota. Fully ramp up on managing campaigns independently, consistently delivering measurable improvements in ROAS and growth metrics.
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience scaling campaigns with $1,000,000+/month budgets.
  • Proven success managing performance campaigns on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube.
  • Expertise in managing direct-response ad campaigns for e-commerce or digital products.
  • Experience in conversion rate optimization (CRO) to improve post-click performance.
  • Previous experience in working with creators or understanding creator-driven advertising.
  • Background in launching products in two-sided marketplaces.
  • A history of running your own agency, e-commerce business, or media buying service.
