This advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in the Office of Communications.
Salary: $18.59 Hourly Rate
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is located in the Office of Communications. The incumbent in this position is charged with brainstorming concepts and developing collateral and communication tools that align with our visual brand to support the Department's internal and external needs. The incumbent must have experience designing, illustrating, and producing a variety of graphics materials and be familiar with multimedia software applications such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. The employee in this position must be flexible and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Designs and prepares graphics for the Department's social media, brochures, reports, booklets, and pamphlets; arranges contents in the most effective manner for presentation.
Takes photographs and videos of Department action, including live and still scenes, portraits, reports, exhibits, publications, social media, etc.
Coordinates the graphic design needs for the Office's recruitment efforts.
Plans, designs, and prepares pictorial posters, illustrations, and publications covers, using free hand and mechanical methods.
Develops formatting and graphic elements for internal communications and educational material for Department staff to ensure effective communications with the public.
Communicates with team members about layout and design.
Upholds and maintains Department branding guidelines and standards.
Coordinates with outside agencies, art services, web designer, marketing, printers, and colleagues as necessary.
Assists in the development of plans, presentations, studies, and reports.
Coordinates with the Department's web team.
Maintains a system for tracking progress on projects to ensure deadlines are met.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or higher or two (2) years of experience in multimedia design can substitute on a year-for-year basis of the required education.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and other graphic design programs.
