BPCM, a leading women-led public relations and communications agency committed to sustainability and brand recognition, is looking for a PR Director, to join our Corporate Communications + Sustainability team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, brand communications, and building a better world through impactful storytelling. As a Director, you will be responsible for pitching media, developing and executing corporate communications strategies for BPCM's clients, driving the company's sustainability initiatives, and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes diversity and talent.

A Day In The Life:
  • Serve as the lead for 4-6 accounts, leading strategy sessions, developing and implementing sustainability and corporate communications strategies and maintaining successful client relationships
  • Provide strategic direction to clients on planning, initiatives, partnerships, activations, and overall positioning
  • Create impactful storytelling and narratives
  • Drafting press releases, media pitches, fact sheets and FAQs to support sustainability and corporate communications strategies
  • Provide counsel and guidance to clients on sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives
  • Serve as a sustainability subject matter expert proactively bringing thought leadership and trends to both the agency and clients
  • Drive the company's sustainability initiatives and maintain a strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with teams across BPCM to ensure all communications align with the company's sustainability goals
  • Build relationships with media, influencers, and partners to promote BPCM's values and services
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging sustainability issues to ensure BPCM stays ahead of the curve
  • Guide and manage junior staff members in day-to-day client activity, including administrative duties such are project tracking and reporting
  • Ability to grow deep relationships with top-tier media and secure feature coverage across multiple verticals
  • Participate and collaborate in growing existing and new business opportunities in response to internally driven opportunities as well as pro-active independently driven new business prospects

Requirements

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, sustainability, communications, PR, or a related field
  • 8+ years of PR pitching and media experience with a focus on sustainability, CSR, and corporate communications, preferably in an agency environment or in-house.
  • A deep understanding of the sustainability landscape and emerging global trends and issues
  • Comfortable working across a variety of industries and clients, from material science and biotechnology to luxury fashion
  • Established editorial relationships across business, sustainability, and fashion
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • A proven track record of team leadership and mentorship
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with media, influencers, and partners
  • Passion for creating a more sustainable and inclusive world


The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000 annually. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

Where a prospective employee will be paid within the compensation range listed above will depend on a number of factors including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations, and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based.
