About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for its School of Library and Information Sciences. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong background in academic administration, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusivity. The Dean will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school, establishing priorities, and representing the school to various academic and professional communities. They must have a minimum of five years of administrative experience in a higher education setting, a proven record of teaching, scholarship, and service, and extensive management experience. The role requires a deep understanding of scholarly communication, information technologies, and the academic enterprise as a whole. As the head of the School of Library and Information Sciences, the Dean will be expected to lead a high-quality faculty and staff, develop and assess educational programs, and engage in continual assessment of the school's resources and services. The ideal candidate will be a student-centered leader committed to the success of both traditional and non-traditional students and will have experience in program accreditation and enrollment management. Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to identify and integrate new technologies that support the educational mission. The Dean will also be responsible for budget management, resource allocation, and seeking new funding sources to support the school's programs and collections.
