Video programmers are the conduit between the customer and the content. You’ll help design and implement the layout of our merchandising, participate in the planning and execution of special features and promotions, and brainstorm creative ways for customers to find the shows they love and discover new ones. A love for Movies & TV is a must and so is extensive experience in curating content online, in the streaming industry, or in print. We’re looking for an individual who excels at strategy, planning, organizing and both big-sky thinking and commitment to detail, who thrives on media culture and has an in-depth understanding of the current complex video distribution landscape. Knowledge of and passion for sports is a huge plus. You’ll live in Movies & TV content, but should understand and feel comfortable with programming sports as well.

We’re seeking an experienced leader, strategic thinker, skilled communicator, and passionate fan, who has a proven track record planning and executing their own workflow while working within a highly collaborative team. The position requires excellent organizational and prioritization skills, resourcefulness, and ingenuity in solving problems. The ideal candidate should feel a personal stake in the product, build strong relationships, and work for the success of the entire team.

Description

As our Video Content Programmer, you will be responsible for maintaining a thoughtful, dynamic and always relevant editorial voice for programming in the Apple TV app and on partner platforms. Our goal is to exceed both Apple’s own standards and the needs of passionate video fans around the world. As a Video Content Programmer you will:

  1. Manage creative, editorially driven curation for Apple Original and third-party content on the Apple TV app.
  2. Work in proprietary and third-party CMS tools to organize, program & publish featuring across platforms.
  3. Coordinate and build collaborative relationships with internal partners from the marketing, operations, analytics, production, design and business teams.
  4. Work with engineers and engineering project managers to continually evolve the Apple TV app.
  5. Represent the team in meetings with cross-functional partners. Present to leadership and executives.
  6. Identify and communicate innovative solutions to streamline workflows and processes.
  7. Most importantly, always be an advocate for the best possible customer experience across our Video products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in online media, e-commerce, and/or merchandising, content programming & curation.
  • Extensive experience working with CMS, digital technology and tools for web-based production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about a wide variety of TV shows, movies, sports and the video business landscape. Current with pop culture, entertainment news and industry trends.
  • Keen sense of cultural relevance and consumer tastes for video content.
  • Driven self-starter and able to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strategic and creative thinker who can problem solve.
  • Ability to successfully organize, prioritize and run multiple projects under strict deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and collaborative teammate.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends, as the content release schedule requires.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,100 and $216,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
