Job Duties:
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to product design and user interface technologies.
- Collaborate with clients to identify and develop patentable inventions.
- Conduct thorough patentability analyses and advise clients on potential patent strategies.
- Support patent litigation efforts by providing technical expertise on relevant technologies.
- Perform freedom-to-operate analyses and due diligence for corporate transactions.
- Draft detailed patent applications and respond to office actions issued by the USPTO.
- Research and stay updated on advancements in software, AI, IoT, and quantum technologies.
- Work closely with engineering teams and inventors to translate technical innovations into legal protections.
- Review technical documents and ensure patent claims are aligned with industry standards.
- Advise clients on strategies to protect intellectual property portfolios and manage patent-related risks.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior members of the patent prosecution team.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, specifically in product design and user interface technologies.
- Strong background in one or more of the following areas:
- Software-related technologies
- Artificial intelligence-related technologies
- Internet of Things (IoT), networking, and related technologies
- Quantum technologies
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Solid understanding of U.S. and international patent laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and teamwork.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
