Overview

National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join their Santa Monica office. In this role, you will collaborate with and be an integral part of the architectural and interior design team, supporting the development of the Interior Design efforts; performing all technical aspects of the interior design process from project kickoff through to construction administration; and assisting and participating in data gathering, planning and documentation.

The firm has 11 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award.

Responsibilities

Works to create design solutions with enduring impact though original insight.Works with integrated Architectural and Interior Design team to develop the interior design solutions for projects ranging from workplace, higher education, and other community and commercial buildings.Researches materials and concepts to advise and support design team on technical issues influencing interior design concept development.Works through entire design process from programming, schematic design to construction drawings and construction administration. Produces material needed for all phases in the form of presentations and construction drawings.Furniture design concept development through to procurement and installation punch lists. Provides research and options to client, creates furniture budgets and furniture bid documents and assists client in procurement.Collaborates and communicates effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members.Works within project schedules to prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

Four year degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited program.4-8 years of interior design experience; arts, community and education and workplace project experience preferred.Fluent knowledge of Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and/or other related graphic software programs is expected.Knowledge of Rhino a plus.Experience with space planning and technical skills including 3D visualization, design detailing, and construction documentation.Experience in construction administration and knowledge of furniture design and specification a plus.NCIDQ completion or plans to pursueSustainability knowledge as it relates to interior finishes and furnishings
