Job Description
NESN is the regional sports network of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins, PWHL, and Hockey East. The Assistant Content Producer is an entry-level position to join our production team. We are looking for people who love sports. We’ll teach you television.
As directed by producers, the Assistant Content Producer will provide support to both live studio and remote productions and original programming by logging and editing videotape, researching, and gathering footage, operating the in-game score bug, and running the network ticker and prompter. You’ll learn how sports television occurs in the control room, the production truck, the edit facility, and the content center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Screen and log videotape, including Red Sox and Bruins games, to learn camera angles
- Clear and melt videotape from MLB and NHL to determine best video for features, teases and promos
- Edit b-roll and highlights of other games for pre/post game shows
- Operate in-game score bug including all editorial interface, sponsorship, and promotion
- Assist producers in securing and organizing production materials for events and studio shows
- Update and maintain the network ticker, including breaking news
- Operate teleprompter in studio shows
- Combine with producers on operating free-to-play games into the pro-product telecast
- Check and gather headlines, photos and footage for original programming
- Assist in n other aspects of original programming content gathering and archiving
- Successfully complete other related tasks/assignments as needed

Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of New England sports, particularly baseball and hockey and preferably major Boston sports teams
- Solid internet research skills
- Creativity and drive and the ability to contribute ideas to the production are a must
- Strong work ethic, reliable and professional
- Solid organizational skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills, must possess a positive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to successfully work in a fast paced, loosely structured, growing and changing work environment; must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision but also able to work effectively within a team environment
- Able to work weekends, nights and holidays as needed
