Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
The Director of Creative Content position will work as part of the Pacific Athletics Marketing & Communications team to lead, develop, and create video content promoting Pacific's 17 teams across multiple platforms. The Director of Creative Content will assist with the comprehensive storytelling of Pacific Athletics and will create engaging content for social media that reaches wide audiences to strengthen the department's brand and enhance the student-athlete experience. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Communications, this position will play a critical role in capturing and producing creative assets that tell the stories of Pacific Athletics to further the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, enhances fan engagement, promotes competitions, and illustrates the department within the West Coast Conference.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with use of computer and phone. Work also performed in sports facilities. Must be prepared to work non-business hours and weekends. Travel is required for some road contests of assigned teams.
Hiring Range
$68,640.00 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Essential Functions
- In partnership with the marketing and communication units, the Director will lead efforts to develop and create content to execute strategic plans designed to positively influence and generate increased engagement for and with Pacific Athletics.
- Works closely with internal and external campus partners to support content needs for department-wide initiatives, special events, and athletics-related campus and community programming.
- Manages production projects from conception through completion.
- Creates engaging and timely video content across a variety of platforms - including social media, in-venue video boards, broadcast, and website - capturing, producing, editing, and creating content as applicable.
- Creates videos to highlight, recap, and promote various sports, endeavors, and events.
- Drives storytelling and brand awareness efforts through social media content, intro/hype videos, fan engagement, highlights, and interviews; including shooting and editing content for long-form, short-form, promotional spots, and documentaries.
- Supports the goal of growing the Pacific Athletics brand through content creation duties while maintaining familiarity with current trends and best practices within the industry.
- Maintains proficiency and knowledge in all the latest social media trends and best practices.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises casual hourly staff and student employees in the execution of creative video functions.
- Analyzes the performance of social content and incorporate insights into future content decisions.
- Adheres to West Coast Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Assists in special projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Two (2) years of sports videography experience at the collegiate or professional level or in television or other mass communication mediums.
- Ability to produce high-quality content while meeting quick turnarounds and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of professional audio/video equipment and production lighting techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube.
- Must be able to work a non-standard work week, which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and the potential to travel with the team(s).
- Prior experience working with collegiate or professional sports teams.
- Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience using motion graphics or visual effects software such as Adobe After Effects preferred.
- Experience running collegiate or professional social media accounts.
- Computer Knowledge including Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Positive attitude.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
