Job Summary:
A Mechanical Designer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the San Jose, CA area. This role involves creating detailed technical drawings for mechanical systems, ensuring design accuracy through site verifications, and collaborating with project teams to meet objectives.

Location: San Jose, California
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $42.85 - 52.89 per hour
Work Hours: 8am to 4pm
Education: Bachelors

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and ensure design implementation aligns with project specifications.
  2. Collaborate with engineers, coordinators, construction trades, and team members to achieve project objectives.
  3. Produce clear, accurate 2D drawing packages adhering to site design standards.
  4. Verify, update, and draft comprehensive chemical/mechanical plans, including piping and equipment layouts, schedules, and control schematics.
  5. Develop detailed piping plans, encompassing pipe routing, instrument and valve locations, and equipment layouts.
  6. Draft Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) illustrating system component interactions.
  7. Create detailed flow diagrams for gas-side and water-side systems, such as HVAC, Hydronics, and Fire Protection.
  8. Incorporate isometric views into design packages to facilitate field installation and comprehension.
