SUMMARY
This position serves as a resource for instructional staff and administration by providing direct services for students who require remediation or acceleration of reading skills. The coordinator will focus on enhancing teachers' ability to provide instruction that builds students' sense of engagement in the ownership of learning. The coordinator will lead, organize, and oversee the library's literacy programs. Finding mentors for the programs developing partnerships and working with our local schools and teachers. The coordinator will also work with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide instructional decisions
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•5+ years elementary classroom experience, reading certification or license
•Preferred Bilingual in Spanish

PROBATION:
All positions serve a (6) six month probationary period
PENSION PLAN: FRS (Florida Retirement System)
We have 14 paid holidays per year. Police Holiday is paid or comp'd at ten (10) hours for holiday except birthday which is at 8 hours. Birthday is an additional paid holiday but must be requested approved by supervisor, and taken in the same week as the birthday occurs.
PERSONAL LEAVE TIME:
Accrues weekly from hire date at the rate depending on length of time in service. PLT may be used, paid, after six (6) months.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Guide mentors in collecting and analyzing data and develop action plans in response to determined student needs.
- Provide individualized, classroom-based support to implement a comprehensive program. This will include modeling of best teaching practices.
- Work with the principals to create a school-wide focus on goals for reading achievement.
- Complete monthly status reports for the principal and library director.
- Evaluate student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate intervention and support services.
- Creating and hosting an after-school program for children who need extra support in literacy.
- Coordinating with our local schools and police department
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years' experience in education. Deep knowledge of reading, writing and literacy development. Familiarity with MAP, DRA and MCA data analysis. Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills.
- Interpersonal skills (communication, problem solving, conflict management, collaboration) to share research based instructional approaches with teachers and administrators and provide advice, mentoring and coaching.

- Assessment skills structure understanding proficient in assessing reading abilities, grammar, word formation.
- Fluency in reading text smoothly with appropriate pacing and expression. Phonological awareness recognizing and manipulates sounds.
- Knowledge of ABC Mouse, DOJO, Kidlit, cloudlibrary, and other reading software resources.
