Job Summary
Maintain library reference information desk during scheduled peak times of need to serve students, faculty, and staff with information retrieval.
* Assist with Information Desk/Reference and research questions, circulation of library technology items, basic computer assistance, monitoring study rooms for policy compliance, copier/print services, and general directional questions relating to the university.
* Check out and scan in circulating library materials, including Reserves, GIL Express, Interlibrary Loan, group rooms materials, and equipment
* Maintain order of the Circulating, Juvenile, Periodical, Popular Reading, Legal, Reference, and Audio/Audio-Visual collections by shelving items and shelf reading materials
* Answer phones and provide basic information or direct the question to a Library faculty or staff member
* Conduct hourly headcounts and record interactions with patrons for analytics
* Shift books as needed or assigned
* Ensure library is presentable at all times by cleaning the equipment, books, and surfaces
* Conduct walk-throughs of the space to ensure patrons are adhering to library policies
* Provide assistance with the hardware and software, including the computers and computer software, circulating equipment, compact shelving, printers, copiers, scanners, and the microfilm reader
* Assist in opening and/or closing the library
* Assist with creating, organizing, and maintaining displays
* Participate in projects intended to improve workflow productivity, accessibility, and availability of information
* Familiarity with Springshare modules including LibGuides, LibChat, and LibCal. May involve updating and working with LibGuide information as needed.

* Ability to learn to use an Integrated Library System
