General Summary

Writes and updates material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

+ Researches and compiles technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, policies, procedures and process road maps.*

+ Studies blueprints, flowcharts, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock ups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.*

+ Interviews personnel and reads material to become familiar with technologies and processes.*

+ Gather data necessary to create and maintain indices, knowledge bases, and glossaries.

+ Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.*

+ Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.*

+ Track work progress and revision history.

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Experience:

+ Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

+ Minimum of 2 years of related experience

+ Experience supporting DoD RMF or IT projects

+ Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to start date; US citizenship required

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ Active Secret clearance
