We are seeking an Instructional Designer/Training Program Designer for a hybrid role located in Folsom, CA.
Contract Duration:
18 Months (approx.) *Must have your own equipment to operate from home
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Lead Customer Education Trainer and the Director of Customer Readiness to identify program requirements, define objectives, and establish learning outcomes. Design and develop comprehensive training content, including instructional materials, job aids, eLearning modules, presentations, and assessments tailored to operations, markets/trader, and settlements roles. Leverage instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE to ensure training content is engaging, effective. Work with eLearning designer to create interactive eLearning courses and multimedia content using industry-standard tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar platforms. Manage the program design lifecycle by maintaining project timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring deliverables are completed on time. Conduct quality assurance reviews of all training materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with program objectives. Regularly communicate project progress, provide status updates, and address risks or roadblocks to key stakeholders, including the Director of Customer Readiness. Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, and external stakeholders to gather content, validate technical accuracy, and incorporate feedback into training materials. Maintain version control and documentation for all training materials, ensuring they remain current and accessible throughout the project. Support the successful rollout of the ITCP by ensuring program readiness, coordinating pilot sessions, and collecting feedback for ongoing improvements.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field. 5+ years of experience designing and developing training programs, including experience with certification programs. Proficiency in instructional design software such as Microsoft PowerPoint and other instructional design software systems. Experience creating blended learning solutions, including eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and classroom materials. Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver complex programs on time. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into engaging training content. Experience working with external customers or stakeholders is a plus. Knowledge of ISO or energy market operations is highly desirable but not required.
