The New York Post is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented part-time Copy Editor (Sundays 12 pm - 6 pm or 11 am - 7 pm) to join our Business section. This role is ideal for a wordsmith who thrives under deadline pressure and has a keen eye for accuracy, clarity, and style. If you excel at crafting sharp headlines, refining captions, and ensuring seamless readability while maintaining our publication's voice and standards, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit copy for style, grammar, spelling, and clarity, ensuring adherence to AP style and New York Post editorial standards.
- Craft engaging, witty, and accurate headlines and captions tailored to the business section's audience.
- Identify and correct factual inaccuracies and inconsistencies in articles.
- Collaborate with reporters, editors, and designers to ensure content meets editorial and visual standards.
- Condense articles where necessary without losing essential information or nuance.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the latest business news and trends to ensure relevance and accuracy in coverage.
- Manage multiple editing assignments simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines with precision.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of copy editing experience in a newsroom or similar fast-paced editorial environment.
- Proficiency in AP style and familiarity with New York Post style and tone.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot and correct errors quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as per the designated schedule.
