This is a non-benefits eligible position - 19 hours per week - This position may be eligible for extension on an annual basis dependent on funding. Selected candidate may not have concurrent employment with another Texas state agency.

This position requires a high degree of personal initiative, great attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and suggest solutions when faced with challenges. Selected candidate must have excellent quality control standards and a personal commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Purpose

Assist the Associate Director for Constituent Relations in implementing the strategy for engaging constituents in the Briscoe Center for American History by managing projects in support of events/programs, communications, custom proposals, annual giving and stewardship.

Responsibilities

* Design/produce basic communication collateral including but not limited to electronic event invitations, proposals, one-pagers, presentations, videos, etc. as needed.

* Project manage outside vendors of larger graphic design projects like brochures and Development related collateral.

* Assist in maintaining the VIP database by creating new constituent records, updating contact information, ensuring integrity of data, distinguishing special prospects, creating reports, and pulling lists from the database to ensure the center's donor relations and communications efforts are efficient and effective.

* Produce mailing lists per requested specifications, ensuring that all qualifying constituents are captured and that the list is clean and ready for use.

* Assist with recording/coding engagement with the center's activities, which includes event RSVPs and exhibit gallery attendance.

* Assist at special events and with donor visits by taking part in set-up and break-down, guest check-in, book sales, and other event related tasks.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or G.E.D. with graphic design training/experience.

* Demonstrated administrative skills and knowledge of databases.

* Experience using Microsoft Excel.

* Experience using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and/or other graphic design software.

* Willingness and aptitude to learn new software as needed.

* Diligence in keeping sensitive information confidential.

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Ability to self-organize to complete tasks with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

* Graduate of or pursuing a degree in graphic design.

* Knowledge of constituent relationship management databases.

* Experience with the university's VIP database and related systems.

* Familiarity with MailChimp or similar marketing software.

* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Salary Range

$17 per hour

Working Conditions

* Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

* Use of manual dexterity

* May be exposed to book dust and book mold

* Lifting and moving up to 50lbs.

Work Shift

* 19 hours per week. Selected candidate may schedule own hours between Monday and Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with supervisor approval. Occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
