What are the core responsibilities for the role?
  • Assist in the management and day-to-day operations of an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) fiber optic network
  • Perform telecommunications design, including the creation of fiber optic splicing diagrams and fiber optic acceptance test sheets
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and plans accurately
  • Assist with updating databases and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Complete tasks independently and collaboratively in both office and field environments
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with computers, technology, and software, with the ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
  • Work with GPS data and GIS mapping software
  • Conduct fieldwork, including site surveys, inspecting fiber optic builds and construction, and troubleshooting fiber optic infrastructure issues
  • May assist with the configuration and installation of network devices

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • 0-3 years of related work experience
  • Driver’s license required for company vehicle use
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to perform field tasks in varying weather
  • Passionate about technology
  • Associates degree (preferred)
  • Entry-Level coding experience (preferred)
  • Experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D (preferred)
  • Experience with Microstation (preferred)
  • Experience in geospatial analysis and mapping (ArcGIS) (preferred)
  • Experience in the fiber optic industry (preferred)
