Position Overview:

The Biloxi Shuckers are looking for a Marketing Trainee to support our digital
and in-person fan engagement efforts. This role will assist with managing our social media
presence, engaging with fans, creating engaging video content, and supporting game day
operations. This position offers hands-on experience in sports marketing, with opportunities to
develop content and strategy within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:


Content Creation & Social Media Management
  • Schedule and publish daily social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok,
Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Develop and execute video content, including behind-the-scenes, highlights, and
fan interactions.
  • Assist with in-game social media coverage, posting real-time updates, game
highlights, and engaging fans.
  • Create recap content to share game outcomes, promotions, and player
highlights.
  • Produce filler content such as fun, educational posts to keep fans engaged
between games.

Community Engagement
  • Monitor and respond to messages and comments across all platforms, ensuring
fans receive timely and accurate responses, especially for game-day FAQs.
  • Act as a point of contact for fan inquiries, focusing on ticketing, parking, weather
updates, and other frequently asked questions.

Analytics & Reporting
  • Track social media metrics using Meta, Bitly, and Later, documenting
engagement and growth.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to assess content performance and suggest
improvements.

Marketing Support & Game Day Duties
  • Assist with on-field promotions, giveaways, and crowd engagement activities
during games.
  • Support grassroots marketing campaigns and ensure promotional material
distribution as needed.
  • Pull tarp as necessary and occasionally wear the mascot suit as needed.
Office & Administrative Tasks
  • Maintain an organized photo and video inventory to streamline content creation.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign ideation and planning.
  • Contribute to weekly planning meetings and report content ideas or findings.
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements:
• Availability for 20-40 hours per week, with flexibility depending on game schedules.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
• Must work in person for game days and in the office during non-game weeks; remote
work is not permitted.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks (pulling tarp, mascot duties).
• Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter,
and YouTube).
• Proficiency in video content creation and basic editing skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in sports and marketing is a plus.
