Job Summary
This position provides communications support in the Department of Pediatrics to help ensure faculty, staff, and learners are informed about key departmental updates, achievements, and opportunities. The role focuses on collecting, curating, and drafting announcements to amplify the work and successes of the members of our department while supporting the overall communications strategy led by the Director of Communications. This position will work closely with the Director of Communications to determine when announcements may require collaboration with the UCSF Public Affairs media relations team.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $50,700 - $107,500 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Basic knowledge of concepts and principles of news, media communications and media relations
- Basic skills in social media and electronic communications to disseminate messages to target audiences
- Basic knowledge of the location, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives, programs and infrastructure
- Basic written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills and political acumen
- Basic organizational skills
- Skill to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to update website with knowledge of Drupal
