The Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) seeks three Artist Liaisons for summer 2025. Artist Liaisons facilitate nearly all aspects of Guest Artist service during the summer season. As the primary point of contact for artists and their management, Artist Liaisons play a critical role in ensuring that Guest Artists have the best possible experience with AMFS.

Artist Liaisons are an integral part of the Artistic Administration department during the summer, reporting directly to the Associate Artistic Administrator. All three Artist Liaison positions are full-time seasonal for 11 weeks and will require some evening and weekend hours each week.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with artists and artists' managers to plan the logistics of Guest Artists' residencies in Aspen
  • Work with AMFS Housing Director to confirm/arrange housing accommodations and rental cars for Guest Artists
  • Schedule conductor/soloist meetings, piano selections, and additional rehearsal time for Guest Artists as applicable
  • Collaborate with AMFS staff to coordinate Guest Artists' involvement in ancillary activities, such as plenary sessions, composition seminars, High Notes panel discussions, interviews with local radio stations, social media appearances, masterclasses, and fundraising events
  • Finalize Guest Artists' full itineraries and prepare welcome packets for Guest Artists in advance of their arrival
  • Provide on-site hospitality for Guest Artists, including but not limited to greeting artists at the airport; providing or arranging local ground transportation; assisting with fulfilling the requirements listed in hospitality riders; and rehearsal and concert duty
  • Each Artist Liaison will have the opportunity to choose one of the following individual projects, based on their interests: collaborating with the AMFS Box Office to reserve comp tickets; organizing post-concert dinners with Guest Artists, AMFS staff, high-level donors, and local restaurants; or assigning performers' dressing rooms
  • Other duties as assigned: Artist Liaisons are on call at all times to help handle any other situations that may arise throughout the season relating to Guest Artists
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Basic knowledge of classical music repertoire is essential; prior experience working for a performing arts organization a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel a plus
  • Hours/time worked will vary throughout the season and applicants must be flexible with their schedules
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and their own vehicle to use in the conveyance of artists during summer dates of employment. Standard gas will be provided by AMFS.

June 9, 2025-August 24, 2025

Compensation

$12.50/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $4.91/hour depending on location.) Overtime $22.22/hour

The overall non-local compensation for this position, including hourly pay ($12.50/hour) and housing ($4.91/hour), exceeds the 2024 Colorado minimum wage of $14.81.

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.

Hiring Timeline
