Our client, an Outdoor Apparel Company is seeking an Associate Designer for their Men's performance/Sportswear line to join their NYC team full-time. Prior experience designing for Costco & Sam's club is a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design process by contributing to CAD creation, deck development, and color card creation, as well as supporting the preparation of line sheets for seasonal deliveries.
  • Help maintain the seasonal brand identity and ensure consistency in core product offerings.
  • Keep up to date with design trends through market research and shopping.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design, Production, and Technical teams to ensure smooth execution of timelines and that all deadlines are met throughout the season.
  • Update and create print and logo artwork as needed.
  • Communicate daily with factories to monitor and follow up on line development.
  • Support the development process by assisting with lab dips, strike-offs, and other production samples.
  • Manage sample organization and oversee the shipping process.
  • Contribute to the design development process by creating technical sketches and preparing tech packs.
  • Attend fit sessions, providing detailed notes and recommendations for fit and style adjustments.
  • Assist with graphic design projects, including creating and editing artwork for visual merchandising, social media, online campaigns, main labels, hangtags, and any other design-related needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Experience with mass-market product development, including cut-and-sew knits, active/performance wear, and sustainable product offerings, with a solid understanding of garment construction.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, or related field.
  • Must have 2-3 years of experience working as a Fashion Designer designing outerwear and sportswear- plus.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to details.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced work environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be a team player and react to feedback in a positive way.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to see through a creative vision from inception to completion.


SALARY RANGE:

$75,000 – $85,000
