General Position Summary
AWB is looking for an Apparel Designer to join our team and support the development of the highest-quality fashion products. This person will support all aspects of product development process, including assisting in designing and developing clothing and accessories, assisting with the development of tech packs, conducting market research, creating sketches and samples, and collaborating with the design team to bring creative concepts to life. The ideal candidate is fast paced, organized, detail oriented, and driven to create quality and innovative products straddling the worlds between streetwear, luxury fashion, and sportswear.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborates with the Design Director to research, develop and design collections
- Responsible for creating tech packs with detailed specifications that include construction details and trim/fabric information, graphic placement, and garment construction
- Updates line plans, sketches, BOMs, tech packs, etc. as necessary
- Helps to manage the design process from initial sketch to production
- Work within the development calendar to ensure deadlines are maintained
- Prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and garment samples
- Execute seasonal line list and meet product development calendar deadlines
- Conduct fittings with Design Director and Technical Design
- Work with Production to maintain design concept throughout production process
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a similar field
- 3-5 years of design or product development experience
- Strong knowledge of garment construction & fabrics
- Must be comfortable in working on all product categories: wovens, knits, and sweaters
- Experience developing and producing Tech Packs
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working with sportswear brands preferred
